Top tips on finding a Bristol osteopath

I often get friends asking me what are my top tips on finding a Bristol osteopath, so I thought it would be useful to share these in a News post.

There are now quite a few Bristol osteopaths offering the full range of professional osteopathic services, and there are a few key factors to bear in mind.

So, in no particular order of preference, here are my top tips on what to look for when looking for Osteopaths in Bristol:

Have they been personally recommended to you?

Personal recommendation is by far the best way to find a trusted Osteopath in Bristol.

I’m regularly getting new patients being referred to me by friends, relatives and other professionals who both trust my professional services and are aware of the specific skills I can provide to a patient.

Are they professionally registered with our regulatory body?

All Osteopaths must be registered (by law) with our regulatory body the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). This organisation monitors and regulates the treatments and services offered by Bristol osteopaths, as well as ensuring that all osteopathic services comply with their stringent requirements.

You can see my Council-registered information here.

How much osteopathic experience do they have?

An experienced osteopath will happily provide full information about their level of experience. For example, I qualified in 1996. I’ve worked as an Osteopath in Bristol since 2000, and launched Alex Prince Osteopathy in 2013.

What range of osteopathy treatments are offered?

I would suggest asking an osteopath in Bristol what range of treatments they provide, and if they have any areas of specialisation or expertise. I started my career in sports specific osteopathy, but  now also have experience treating children using cranial osteopathy. I of course offer more general osteopathic treatments for back pain, neck pain, and injuries to the rest of the body.

How convenient is the Bristol osteopath’s location?

I provide treatments in my clinic in Westbury Park, with free parking available on local streets, and easy access from Henleaze, Clifton, Westbury-on-Trym and Redland. I also have an online booking system which is quick and easy to use – see below.

Are other related services available?

My Bristol osteopathic clinic in Westbury Park is located alongside the personal training space at  Active8 – find out more here.
