Alex Prince Osteopathy and Covid-19

In these difficult times, I wanted to update you as to the current status of Alex Prince Osteopathy at Active8.

Our collective health and wellbeing must be our top priority.

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic we are facing unprecedented times.

The clinic at Active8 currently remains open. I am monitoring the official advice coming from the Government, Public Health England and my governing body, regarding Covid-19.

There is a possibility that I may need to close at some point.

At this stage I am still happy to see patients in clinic. If you have an appointment you can still attend. If you would like to book an appointment that is also fine.

I am well and I haven't had any known contact with anyone displaying symptoms of Covid-19.

If you or someone in your household develop a persistent cough or a high temperature (37.8 degrees or above), please DO NOT attend the clinic. You should follow these self-isolation guidelines as set out by PHE.

If you have recently attended for an appointment and develop the symptoms in the days following this, please let me know immediately.

If you do not wish to attend your appointment I fully understand. Please let me know by email, text or phone.

At this time I am also able to offer phone or video consultations. Although there won’t be any hands on treatment, I will be able to offer help, advice,  reassurance and exercises.

These factors can be very useful in managing musculoskeletal conditions.

A full length consultation will be charged at £30 and will likely last 30-40 minutes. Please let me know if you would like to book in for a video or phone consultation.

For those still wishing to come in for an appointment I want to highlight the precautions we are taking at Active8:

·      There was a deep clean at Active8 on Sunday, including the gym area and all equipment, the clinic room, as well as the changing rooms, toilets and kitchen. This will be happening every week.

·      We are asking everyone to wash their hands when they arrive and depart. There are also the usual hand sanitizer units on the wall. All staff at Active8 will also be washing their hands regularly.

·      There are spray bottles of surface cleaner around the gym space.  Please use these after being on equipment.

·      We are asking people to bring in their own water bottles and towels if you will be using the gym equipment.

·      In the clinic space we have removed the plinth cover so the bed can be easily wiped down between clients. I have changed the pillow cases to waterproof wipe-able covers, which again will be wiped between clients and we will continue to use couch roll over the plinth and pillows as usual.

·      There are tissues available in the clinic room, please feel free to use them if you don't have any with you.

We are all being asked to take extra precautions, and it is an unfamiliar world at the moment. If you can get some fresh air, then do.

It's amazing the difference some sun on your face, seeing the trees, hearing the birds and noticing nature can make you feel.

Take care everyone and please do get in touch if you need any help.
