Bristol cyclist utilises Maintenance Treatments from Alex Prince Osteopathy to prevent sports injuries

My latest News post is a case study concerning one of my regular patients – a Bristol cyclist who utilises Maintenance Treatments to prevent sports injuries.

I recently wrote a detailed News item about how my osteopathic services in Bristol are used by patients to prevent and treat sports-related injuries. Please visit here to find out more.

Jo Jago is a 39-year-old Bristol-based sales rep, who has a passion for cycling and who won Bronze last year at the World amateur Time Trial Championships.

Jo regularly competes in Amateur TT and hill climbing events across the UK, and has given her full permission for the photograph above and her details to be used.

I interviewed her this week, to review the difference that my Maintenance Treatments have made to her in helping to prevent cycling-related injuries.

How did you come across Alex Prince Osteopathy, and how long have you been a patient?

“Alex was recommended to me by a sports massage contact over three years ago for his range of osteopathic services in Bristol, as well as his Maintenance Treatments for sporting patients.”

What frequency do you receive treatments and why?

“I see Alex roughly every six weeks. The Maintenance Treatments are for around 30 minutes each time, and he works on loosening up tight joints and muscles in my back. Cycling at my level can cause tightening of the lower and upper back, particularly when competing in time trials.”

Are there any other benefits from utilising Alex Prince Osteopathy?

“Absolutely! As well as injury prevention from regular Maintenance Treatments on my back, Alex also provides really useful lifestyle and injury-prevention tips as well as exercises and leg work to do at home. For example, I’m currently working on daily single leg squats to build up stability, as well as general stretching exercises and using a foam roller from Alex’s advice.”

What other benefits from the Maintenance Treatments would you mention?

“Alex’s treatments provide to a high level of support. I always walk out feeling a few inches taller, as well as having any back issues resolved.”

Is there any advice you’d pass on to sporty people you know as a result?

“Go and visit a Bristol osteopath such as Alex Prince before an injury occurs. His Maintenance Treatments enable me to be injury-free and to keep cycling.”
