Summer is with us (kind of), and I usually find that as a Bristol Osteopath, I am giving more treatment advice to gardeners.
My patients are busier in their gardens, and this invariably leads to a rise in gardening-related injuries and issues.
My team at Alex Prince Osteopathy in Henleaze are well placed to diagnose, treat and advise gardeners with aches, pains and strains.
Our team in BS6 are Osteopaths (Alex and Felix), but we also have a great physio (Charlie) and an experienced massage therapist (Flo).
We are all here to help resolve your gardening ailments.
What are the most common gardening injuries?
Low back pain - The lumbar spine (base of the spine) aches after a long stint of digging or weeding.
Sore shoulders - Often repetitive shoulder movements such as cutting hedges or high-level pruning can cause shoulders to get sore.
Wrist and elbow pain - Repetitive work with hands such as pruning, weeding and digging can play havoc with wrists and elbows.
Sore knees - prolonged kneeling or squatting can be testing for even the healthiest of knees.
